Bovet Batista Tourbillon is unveiled at Dubai Watch Week 2021
At Dubai Watch Week 2021, we have the opportunity to see the Bovet Battista tourbillon, which is the next milestone in the brand's cooperation with Pininfarina. The co-designed model was inspired by Pininfarina's Battista GT Hyper Car.
In the 2018 Formula E race in Rome, Pininfarina (owned by Mahindra Group) announced a new car manufacturing division called Automobili Pininfarina. Although they have been responsible for some of the most beautiful since its establishment in 1930 Car design, but Pininfarina has not started manufacturing cars until now. Their first all-electric supercar made its debut at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show and was named after Battista'Pinin' Farina. Automobili Pininfarina collaborated with Rimac on the drive system to provide incredible performance: 1877 horsepower, 2300 Nm torque, 0-100 km/h in less than 2.0 seconds, 0-300 km/h in less than 12 seconds, and a top speed of 350 Km/h. With a 120kwh battery pack, it has a battery life of 500 kilometers on a single charge. Thanks to the original performance and Pininfarina's own adjustments to the power system and design, the vehicle is expected to bring a unique driving experience. It should be, it is dressed in a clearly unmistakable Italian style, designed by Luca Borgogno's pen, the chief design officer of Automobili Pininfarina.
At Dubai Watch Week 2021, Mr. Borgogno and Mr. Keith Strandberg, Head of Communications of Bovet, showed us the Bovet Battista Tourbillon. The enthusiastic cooperation between Bovet and Pininfarina has lasted for many years, but this is the first cooperation with the automobile manufacturing department established in 2018.
"When designing the Bovet Battista Tourbillon, we had a truly creative and collaborative design process," said the car designer responsible for incorporating the latest technology into the sensuously curved sports car shape. 'We adopted the Battista GT's characteristic pattern, and then focused on creating a watch around the technical content of the watch movement. The movement itself was built from the ground up by Bovet to adapt to the required functions and optimally designed.
Unlike Bovet, the dial is asymmetrical. The sub-dial is tuned from light blue to Battista's Iconica Blu colors, which are repeated on the hands, tourbillon frame, scale ring and screws on the back. The time is displayed by the central hand, and the actual status of the 10-day operating reserve is displayed on the subdial at 9 o'clock. The date is in the large aperture of the other sub-dial. The wheels, bridges and movement parts are in sharp contrast with the blue details.
Through the sapphire crystal glass on both sides, you can see the beautiful 60-second flying tourbillon. The balance wheel runs at a frequency of 2.5 Hz and releases energy from a single barrel within 10 days. Bovet's patented spherical differential mechanism helps to multiply the winding motion to speed up the process. The structure of the skeleton movement, especially the splint on the back, is directly inspired by the lines of the Battista GT. The strap is made of vegan rubber.
To pay tribute to Pininfarina's 90-year heritage, the shape of the small dial and the black bridge represent the anniversary.
